Roots and Fruits
Tubestation weekend away happened!!!
What an epic weekend away for the Tubestation crew! About 70 of us filled Treloyhan Manor in St Ives for a sunny and fun-filled weekend of connecting, inspiration, laughter and depth. Highlights included a mysterious murder mystery where it turned out the victim was allergic to water; a hilarious and totally crazy talent show; a midnight secret Radish meeting; a group surf at Porthmeor; 6 nations rugby; a baptism; beach games; dance workout; in-house workshops where we discovered our Spiritual Gifts with Sarah, our Prayer Personality with Pauline, and took a creative  journey inwards with Helen's Art of Self Discovery; plus some rad music and some amazing deep times of worship together as well.
The theme for the weekend was Roots and Fruits, with Henry and Alistair teaming up to introduce the concept (see below); Mike Kent telling us about one of many potential growth areas close to his heart - Education; and Amanda and Joff leading creative input and gathering ideas from everyone young and old.
The weekend closed with an amazing Spirit-filled Sunday Session lead by Sarah. All in all the weekend was awesome and, for a church that spends so much of its time serving other people, it was a real treat to be served and just to spend quality family time together. What a lovely, crazy, beautiful community we have!
(Big ups to Muggers, Selks, Yarders, Big Al and several others for doing sooooo much of the organising x) And to all those of you who couldn't make it, WE MISSED YOU! More pics to follow next time.
Roots & Fruits - A New Season
Sometimes it's the small things that make the biggest impact. For many years we have been listening to the needs of our community and looking at what we might do to provide the best for them. Already this year we have made a number of small adjustments that help shape the Tubestation slightly better as we journey forwards. Some are visible, such as the awesome new roof, and solar power; some are less so - fitting the fastest broadband available, starting a new intern programme, becoming a 'plastic-free community'.
All steps in the right direction. Together each small change adds up to a big difference, and gradually we are serving the community better...
Roots and Fruits
... Roots and Fruits is about taking small steps to strengthen what we offer, and branching out into our fuller potential. We have heard the call for quiet space, for prayer, contemplation and counselling; community work space, room for teaching, study, and making a mess; greater capacity for larger groups; compact accommodation for travelling staff and volunteers; as well as improving the kitchen so that it can continue to provide the hospitality for which the Tubestation is so well known.
This year we are going to move forward on some of these things, by fundraising and getting to work, so that little by little over the coming years we might see a natural development with deeper roots that serves our community even more beautifully. You can follow the story and get involved at
As a starter-for-ten, we would like to invite all your comments and suggestions to, especially if you can find us inspiring pictures and ideas that will help us to create a 'mood board'. So get digging folks!!! And if any of the ideas above excite you and you want to help, we are starting to fundraise now...
Jesus Longboard Classic coming up!
JLC 2018 re-run
Can't wait for the re-run of the JLC next weekend! Let's all pray for perfect surf and wind conditions. We need a team of volunteers to help in the kitchen so if you're keen please see Abi.
Tube Alpha

Alpha is a video series about asking the big questions, and we’re really excited to be running one at the Tubestation starting 24 April for 10 weeks on a Wednesday night. It’s a place to look out and invite our community to join us in asking questions about life and faith. Sarah Yardley will be running the series, but is looking for a few people to join with hosting, meals, tech, and all the other details… can you send her a message at if you’re interested in being part of that team?

Ecosystems of the shore
As soon as the iodine hit my nostrils and the roar of the surf beat against my eardrums, I felt better..... I headed to the shore to clear my head and recharge my batteries, I was not disappointed...
