It’s been a busy, bustling, beautiful summer and we have seen so much of God’s goodness and provision in times of challenge. We set some really key financial challenges this year especially with our amazing Abi getting married this summer and staff time off. In May, we were given the word "I will provide” … God was piecing together the most incredible team of people for the summer, from Germany (Manu), Switzerland (Alena), Spain (Kirsten), and the UK (Lydia, Laura, Nic, Joy). We had the most enjoyable summer I can remember, laughed lots every day, made epic cakes and soups, served what Jamie Oliver’s wife Jules called “the best coffee and croissants in Polzeath” (high praise!) with everyone lifting each other up and working hard to lighten the load for each other and make the Tube “sing” every day. It was a joy. There were many times when I just had to pause and thank God as I observed the feeling of harmony around me. Honestly moving! He is so awesome.
For the individuals involved, the volunteers who gave their time, they were repaid in ways none of us could have possibly planned. I think all without exception were surprised at the God stories resulting from their time here, all life shaping in different ways. We’re also really grateful for the words of encouragement, financial gifts towards roots and fruits, donations from visitors around the country, and feel so loved and upheld by our wider community. So thanks…and here’s to a winter full of joy.
