We're so excited to report to you that our target for the roof and solar campaign has now been reached, all £22,000 of it Wowowow!!! This means that together we have literally secured the roof over the heads of this gorgeous community for the next 80 years! How good is THAT????!!!! Always remembering...

---It's not about the roof, it's about what happens underneath!"---

Well done and THANK YOU to all who have helped towards this in any way (givers, prayers, promoters, you know who you are), it's a fantastic team effort and testament to a communal belief in the continuation of the work here for the next generations. Brilliant.
The good weather just seems to go on and on, and we've even been blessed (after weeks of flat surf) with some really pumping surf conditions, a little snifter last Wednesday, and then this week which has turned out much bigger than expected - absolutely pumping! (needed that!)
On that note, j
ust thought we should embarrass Chris again by including him
in the newsletter lol....
So glad he managed a session or two this week on the new board, I have literally never seen him so stoked as after his first session on this little nugget! Chris and lovely Lydia will soon be Wales bound for the next steps on their life journey together. Only a few days to say our farewells now!

Chris says,
"I moved to Cornwall without knowing anyone or having anywhere to live and I’m now leaving 6 years later having gained a family (and a beautiful wife 😏) Seriously blessed and surprised by my @tubestationcrew this morning with a new stick for the summer swell! Too many people to thank but you know who you are 🙂 next weekend’s going to be emotional"

We're gonna miss them so much, not just for their friendship, but at the Tubestation for their role in leadership, music, mentoring our teens, heading up CS Polzeath and for just having the belief in and love for what we're doing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in, often for little or no thanks or reward, just for love. Thanks to @escapesurfboards for their help in creating this rad little stick so that we could show something of our appreciation, and looking forward to a final farewell with Lydia this Sunday! We love you guys xxx
CS Prayer on the Edge was radical
Prayer on the edge
The CS Prayer on the Edge last week felt really good. On the beach and up on the cliffs, we prayed for the community and for Cornwall, and were reminded of the deep roots of this county, which still feel so relevant to us today. When the Romans invaded Britain, the Celts dispersed and stood fast at the edges, places like Cornwall, defiant to Roman rule. The Roman (Latin) word meaning roots - "radix", from which we get the word "radical" we use so much in surfing, and even the good old radishes (the original root vegetables?) we are growing in the Tube garden which make an appearance every day in the delicious salads we serve in the Tubestation. Ancient roots, still growing strong today!
This week at the Tube we wanted to give special thanks to the crew who have helped keep the place looking great - Jack for his help draping huge pieces of hessian; Josh for strimming; Harry for weeding and pruning; Nigel, Sue, Ben and Sam for mowing, tidying and harvesting a huge crop of onions; and Trevor for cementing. Like the monks of old caring for a monastery, we care for this place so that other people feel cared for, so thank you all very much for contributing, it is very moving to see and it really means a lot.

Now, we're on the lookout for someone who is GOOD WITH WOOD to help us fix some bits of the decking - this will be a paid job as it will take a day or two and requires a good level of skill. So if that's you or you can point someone in our direction, let us know!

Thursday, the 2nd of August at 7:30PM in the Basement at WCC, we are delighted that Cheryl Broderson will be with us before embarking on her busy schedule at Creation Fest! Many of you know her as popular and highly respected speaker and wife of Brian, the director of Creation Fest. This really is something not to be missed and we would love to have you join us! If you are able to come, please email molly@wadebridgechristiancentre.org to let us know.

Dr Mike Kent says...
Last Wednesday I searched for one of my favourite animals, the Celtic sea-slug Onchidella celtica, on the rocks below Tristram car park. It is not outwardly the best looking beast on the planet. It would not win any sea-slug beauty competition, even in Polzeath. But don't be fooled by its outward appearance...
